About SCS

Experts in the Workplace, Experts in the Work Zone

Safety and Construction Supply, Inc. (SCS) opened for business on April 15, 1986 (tax day), in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, in a 2,700 square-foot facility that provided traffic safety supplies and construction safety equipment. We have since grown into a regional and national distributor of personal, industrial, utility, work-zone traffic control, and fleet traffic safety products with a 24,800 square-foot main facility in Denver and an additional sales/stocking location in Rifle, CO.

Some of our most popular specialized items include our traffic barrels for sale, traffic barricades in Denver, and arrow boards for traffic.  SCS also offers a number of value-added services such as Just-in-Time delivery, a dedicated Stock on Hand Program, Procurement Pro, and more .etc. These are detailed in the associated Value Added Services tab.

We owe our success, continuity, and outstanding performance, to the loyal, dedicated, and resourceful people who work here.

MBE/DBE Program and Involvement

Since our inception, SCS has been actively involved in the progress and development of minority business. To that end, we have served on boards, exhibited at minority business fairs (local and national), and provided role models as needed. We are certified as a Small Business/Disadvantaged Business by the National Minority Supplier Development Council-Mountain/Plains Council (NMSDC), as well as the State of Colorado, Regional Transportation District (RTD), and numerous additional agencies and corporations. In this era of corporate ownership and control, SCS remains Colorado owned and operated.

Going Green Program

SCS has partnered with Independent Power Systems (IPS) to "go green" by installing a rooftop solar/electric system at our location. This state-of-the-art photovoltaic system produces 66,000 kilowatt (kWh) hours per year, which provides 100% of our company's electrical consumption and puts electricity back into the electrical grid. Over 30 years we have saved approximately 1,980,000 kWh. Each of these solar-generated kilowatt-hours is equivalent to one pound of coal not burned.

Thank you for doing business with SCS!
